Routes and locations
The Schematicbot is a fixed world station. It is not crafted, stored in the inventory, carried on the Lift, or moved into a player workshop.
Surface Kiosk layouts
Both current Kiosk layout variants contain a placed Schematicbot. A generated world can reuse a layout, so the number of reachable stations is world-dependent.
Mining Hub main area
The Mining Hub main layout contains another fixed Schematicbot for underground progression.

The interface presents three eligible inputs at a time. Choose a part for its exact recipe or a box for a random eligible recipe.
After the scan
Complete the final unlock action, then open the Craftbot or Saw Table to use the new recipe with its normal ingredients.

- A random scan consumes 1 Schematic Box.
- The scan takes about 2 seconds before the final unlock action appears.

Schematicbot input behavior
| Input | Recipe selected | Input consumed? | When it appears |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eligible blue-icon part | That part's exact recipe | No | The part is eligible and its recipe is still locked |
| Schematic Box | One random eligible recipe | Yes — 1 box | At least one random-pool recipe remains locked |
Both routes unlock a recipe. Neither route gives a crafted copy of the newly unlocked part.
Unlock routes compared
| Route | Player chooses the recipe? | Uses Schematicbot? | Finished item received? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blue-icon part scan | Yes — the scanned part | Yes | No |
| Schematic Box scan | No — random result | Yes | No |
| Trader recipe offer | Yes — the listed offer | No | No |
| Quest schematic reward | Fixed by the quest | No | No |
Recipe state in multiplayer
| State | Shared or personal? | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Unlocked recipes | Shared by the save | Every player can use the registered recipe |
| Remaining Schematicbot pool | Shared by the save | A completed scan removes that recipe from the locked pool |
| New-recipe marker | Tracked per player | Each player can clear their own newly unlocked indicator |
| Recipes disabled in world rules | Shared by the save | All recipes are treated as available; random scans stop |
The Two Inputs Do Different Jobs
The station accepts an eligible part marked with the blue schematic icon or a Schematic Box. Scanning the part targets its matching recipe; scanning the box spends one consumable for a random eligible recipe.
An exact part scan does not remove that part from the player's inventory. Once its recipe is unlocked, the part stops appearing as an available Schematicbot input.
Complete a Scan
- Interact with the Schematicbot and review the available inputs.
- Drag the intended part or Schematic Box into the scan slot.
- Press Scan to begin the roughly two-second process.
- When scanning finishes, press the final unlock control to register the recipe.
- Check the relevant Craftbot or Saw Table list; the unlock is a recipe, not a free finished part.
Where to Find a Schematicbot
Placed Schematicbots appear in the two surface Kiosk layouts and in the Mining Hub main area. Kiosk layouts can be used by procedural world generation, so these are placement types rather than a promise of only three stations in an entire world.
The station is fixed in place. Bring the blue-icon part or Schematic Box in the operating player's inventory instead of trying to move the machine to a base.
Read the Input Carousel
The station shows three available inputs at a time. Use the left and right arrows when more eligible parts or boxes are available than fit on the first view.
The displayed schematic count combines eligible blue-icon parts with usable Schematic Boxes. Boxes only count up to the number of random recipes still available, so carrying a large stack does not imply that every box can still be used.
Why a Part Is Missing
- The item does not have the blue schematic icon and is not eligible for exact scanning.
- The matching recipe has already been unlocked on this save.
- The recipe belongs to a trader, quest, Growlab, treasure, or another dedicated reward route.
- The item is not in the inventory of the player currently operating the station.
What the Save Remembers
A completed recipe unlock belongs to the save, not only to the player who pressed the final button. In multiplayer, everyone on that save can use the newly registered recipe after the state updates.
The newly unlocked marker is tracked separately for each player. One mechanic clearing that marker does not mean the shared recipe became locked again.
The Station Is Not Workshop Furniture
The Schematicbot is a fixed world station rather than a machine the player crafts and installs at a base. It is usable, but it is not buildable, liftable, paintable, connectable, erasable, or shown as a normal inventory part.
Its 5 × 11 × 3 physical size describes the placed station model; it is not a clearance plan for a player-built machine.
If the Recipe List Does Not Change
- Finish the scan with the final unlock control instead of leaving when the timer ends.
- Check the correct crafting station: the random pool can include Craftbot and Saw Table recipes.
- Confirm that the recipe was not already available before the scan.
- On multiplayer saves, let the host complete one scan and recheck the recipe list.
- Use a current patched build; patch 1.0.1 addressed empty unlocks and large-session recipe issues.
