Level 5 speed has engine rounding quirks on very short recipes—expect about one second longer than a perfect half-time on some items.

Station roles versus bottlenecks

StationUnlocks progression when…Typical bottleneck
CraftbotYou need parts/blocks/tools at scaleSlots, then Component Kits for upgrades
RefinebotRaw resource objects pile upSingle output slot — pipe into chests
CookbotCombat/travel needs food perksIngredient farm + labeled meal chest
DressbotQuest garments / customizationGarment boxes, not combat power

Dispenserbot Is the Gate

After restoring the Mechanic Station, the static Dispenserbot creates portable Craftbot, Refinebot, Cookbot, and Dressbot units. Create Craftbot first; add Refinebot when raw nodes clog storage; add Cookbot before Warehouse and mining trips that need perk food.

Spend Component Kits on Slots, Then Speed

Early kits are better spent unlocking Craftbot slots than cosmetics. Levels 2–4 are five kits each for two slots. Save a twenty-kit stack for Level 5 once the workshop already has labeled input/output chests—speed without organization just fills the wrong pile faster.

Refinebot Wants Pipes

Refinebots pull from nearby Resource Collectors and choke on a single output slot. Connect Large Chests with Vacuum Pipes or port contact so refined material leaves automatically. Expect on the order of a few minutes to empty a full collector—batch refine instead of babysitting one log at a time.

Cookbot Is Loadout, Not Flavor

In 1.0, cooked food restores health and grants perks. Stage a combat meal and a travel meal before Farmbot, Warehouse, or Excavation Island runs. Keep seed potatoes separate from ammo potatoes and from Cookbot ingredients.

1.0 Schematics Gate Recipes

Some Craftbot recipes stay locked until Schematic Boxes / Schematicbot progression. If an older guide lists a part you cannot craft, check schematic unlocks before farming materials for a phantom recipe.
