Construction sequence

Do not place the next system until the checkpoint under the current stage is true. That keeps steering, motion, power, and storage failures separate.

Stage goal

Prove the loaded carrier

Build a stable six-wheel chassis before the drill is attached.

  1. Place the steering axle far enough forward to support the future head.
  2. Mount the seat, engine, and storage low inside the wheelbase.
  3. Use temporary blocks equal to the planned head mass during the road test.

Stage goal

Build the drill module separately

Create a short, rigid head with a known neutral position.

  1. Mount the Plasma Drill where the driver can see the contact point.
  2. Use two aligned Pistons rather than a long unsupported arm.
  3. Add physical stops so retraction cannot pull the drill into the chassis.

Separate the controls

Prevent travel inputs from activating the mining head.

  1. Use one Switch for the drill and another for head movement or lock state.
  2. Connect the Controller only to the Pistons or positioning bearings.
  3. Mark the fully retracted travel state.

Run a controlled contact test

Apply tool pressure without unloading the steering axle.

  1. Approach square to a safe target at low vehicle power.
  2. Advance the head in short steps.
  3. Reverse immediately if the vehicle begins climbing or the steering wheels lighten.

Test bench

Run these checks with the normal load fitted. If one fails, make the listed physical change and repeat that same test before changing another variable.

Change the proven baseline for the route or job you actually have. Every upgrade adds a tradeoff, so repeat the test bench afterward.
