Routes and locations
Driver's Seats are crafted control parts; early vehicle lessons introduce their steering and engine connections.
First-car progression
The tutorial asks the player to place a seat and connect it to steering bearings and an engine.

Produce replacement and upgraded control seats at the workshop.
- Keep the seat inside the wheelbase and away from tool impacts.
- Verify every bearing direction before road testing.
- Leave an exit path that bodywork cannot block.
Driver's Seat recipes and properties
Makes bearings turn left and right. Can be connected to an engine to control the direction of travel. Can also be connected to triggers that can be activated from the seat. Lvl 5 Driver's Seat unlocks steering settings by pressing (E) on connected bearings with the Connect Tool.

Driver's Seat upgrade ladder (1.0 data)
| Level | Connection limit | Adjustable steering | Next upgrade |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 6 | No | 1 Component Kit |
| 2 | 8 | No | 2 Component Kits |
| 3 | 12 | No | 3 Component Kits |
| 4 | 16 | No | 5 Component Kits |
| 5 | 20 | Yes | — |
Reaching Level 5 costs 11 Component Kits in total. Level 5 raises the connection ceiling to 20 and unlocks per-bearing steering settings.
Make Controls Readable
Connect steering bearings first, verify left and right, then add engines and auxiliary controls. A small labeled control set is easier to recover under pressure than a seat connected to every machine on the vehicle.
Upgrade the seat when its connection limit blocks the next control, or when Level 5 steering-angle settings solve a specific axle problem. A higher-level seat does not correct a reversed bearing by itself.
- Keep steering separate from tool movement.
- Place the seat near the vehicle center when practical.
- Use paint or signs to identify important numbered controls.
- Set Level 5 Driver's Seat bearing angles — Calculate the left and right limits for each front steering bearing.
