Cotton Crop

A fabric and crafting resource plant—not a raid-primary food crop. Absent from the 1.0 Raid Calculator plant list; grow it for Cotton supply and garments, not for raid budgeting.

How to get it

Routes and locations

Cotton can be cultivated after obtaining its seed supply, providing a farm-based alternative to repeated wild gathering.

Method / location

Player farm

Plant the available Cotton Seeds in watered soil and preserve replacements.

Before you leave
  • Grow it when clothing demand justifies a dedicated row.
  • Keep wild-gathered and planted supply organized.
  • Include Cotton rows in the same watering plan as other crops.

Not a Raid Calculator Crop

Cotton does not appear among the 1.0 calculator plant values (Tomato through Pineapple). Do not estimate raid tiers from cotton rows. Plant it for fabric and crafting demand, while food and fruit rows own the raid math.

Garment and Crafting Pull

Natural world Cotton can cover occasional recipes. A dedicated cotton-crop row becomes worthwhile when garment work or repeat crafts create steady demand. Until then, soil is better spent on potatoes and tomatoes.

  • Track which recipes actually consume Cotton each session.
  • Plant one test row before committing a full field.
  • Do not displace ammo potatoes for vanity fabric stockpiles.

Same Water Clock, Different Chest

Cotton shares the 21 / 10.5 grow timing with standard food crops. Water it on the same pass if convenient, but harvest into a crafting chest—not into the trader produce crates used for fruit-seed exchanges.

Seed Hygiene Beside Food Rows

Cotton Seeds mixed into tomato or potato bags waste planting actions. Color-code the cotton seed pouch and keep harvested Cotton beside garment materials rather than cookpot inputs.

  1. Reserve a crafting-side chest for Cotton.
  2. Water with the food rows if the hose pass is shared.
  3. Restock Cotton Seeds only after checking garment project needs.

Defense Still Matters Around Resource Rows

Even without calculator plant value, bots path through whatever soil sits on the approach. Place cotton behind or beside defended food rows so a raid does not casually flatten your fabric supply while you fight on the tomato line.

Cotton: Which Bot Actually Matters?

Cotton Seedbot carries the matching seed type. Seedbots flee instead of attacking; damage can release matching seeds and destroying one releases an additional matching bundle. Not in the regular hit or default raid reward pools.

Cookbot does not grow or harvest Cotton. Its current use for this crop is: Not used by the three current Cookbot recipes. Treat Cotton as a material crop and store its seeds away from food rows.

  • Use a Vacuum Pump creation for planting or harvesting; that is a player-built machine, not an autonomous farm bot.
  • Check the Raid Calculator before scaling the field, because crop count and crop value change the attacking wave.
  • Keep seeds, harvest produce, and Cookbot ingredients in separate labeled containers.
