Five Potatoes Per Plant Is the Whole Point

Most crops return one unit; Potato returns five on the same 21-minute clock. That yield is why potato fields fund Farmbot fights (≈58 Spudgun shots) and Warehouse clears without needing huge soil footprints.

Triple-Bucket Inventory

Never treat the harvest as one pile. Bucket one: seeds for the next cycle. Bucket two: base-defense magazine beside the farm lane. Bucket three: expedition loadout. Mixing those buckets is how a Warehouse run empties the farm’s only defense reserve.

  • Label chests Seeds / Defense / Expedition.
  • Restock defense before filling the buggy.
  • Count Farmbot pulls against the expedition bucket only.

Low Raid Value, High Operational Value

At calculator value 1, potatoes barely move raid tiers compared with bananas or oranges. You can plant a serious ammo field without the plant-value spike of fruit—use that asymmetry deliberately when defense is ready but high-value produce is not.

Weapon Family Demand Curve

Spudgun sips ammo; Spudling gulps it; Shotgun spends two potatoes per trigger for high close-range damage. Size the potato plot to the weapons you actually carry, not to a theoretical max fire rate.

  1. List the week’s planned fights (raids, ruins, Farmbots).
  2. Estimate potato spend from weapon choice.
  3. Plant one cycle ahead of that spend.

Classic 1.5 Versus Calculator 1

Older raid tables scored Potato at 1.5. The 1.0 calculator scores it at 1. If an outdated guide warns that potatoes spike raids, re-check with the live calculator—ammo fields are kinder on plant value than fruit fields of similar soil area.

Potato: Which Bot Actually Matters?

Potato Seedbot carries the matching seed type. Seedbots flee instead of attacking; damage can release matching seeds and destroying one releases an additional matching bundle. Possible 3, 5, or 7 Potatoes from an accepted Lootbot hit.

Cookbot does not grow or harvest Potato. Its current use for this crop is: Pizza Burger ×10; Veggie Burger ×10. Separate weapon ammunition from the two ten-Potato Cookbot batches.

  • Use a Vacuum Pump creation for planting or harvesting; that is a player-built machine, not an autonomous farm bot.
  • Check the Raid Calculator before scaling the field, because crop count and crop value change the attacking wave.
  • Keep seeds, harvest produce, and Cookbot ingredients in separate labeled containers.
